2011 Bandera 50k & 2011 Plans

I do not think I will write  a race report about this years Bandera 50k run. Just a short blurb.

Although I was severely out of shape (compared to some past races), I ran a comfortable 5:12. This is an excellent kick into the 2011 racing season and I have some fun goals. It was wonderful to see friends and Team members out there kicking it! Teammates Liza Howard and Melanie Fryar showed up the 100k and 50k crowd by setting course records!

Planning a wedding in another country is a lot of work! but it will pay off exponentially!. We are planning our honeymoon in Jericoacoara (northern Brasil beach town) right after the wedding. We may even try to run a race down there a week or so before the wedding.

Exciting things coming up:

  1. Fuego y Agua 2012 Edition:
    • The race date moved to February 2012 (exact date coming soon) to accommodate a larger group of people and to move the race out of the heavy tourist season.
    • A new website with detailed course descriptions, more photos and a better signup process coming in February, March…
    • Registration opens on February 10th!
  2. Wedding! – Paula and I are getting married on May 28th. I could not be happier and I look forward to every day we will spend together.
  3. Cactus Rose 100 2011! – Yes, I will be out there, in tip-top shape…

I am 30 now, does this mean I get better at ultrarunning? It will if I train hard.

Leadville 100 and another Grand Canyon run in the works for 2012 – I just cannot get that much vacation time off this year.
